Circular needles: 4 mm
Gauge: 18 stitches × 24 rows = 10 × 10 cm in stockinette using 4 mm needles after blocking.
Yarn: 13 (13) 14 (14) 15 balls of Léttlopi by Ístex (50 g/ 100 m). The grey sample was knitted in color 0085. Note: Léttlopi is a rustic Icelandic wool, and its texture may feel itchy to some people, particularly those with sensitive skin. Feel free to substitute it with another yarn of similar weight that matches the pattern gauge.
Other materials: 1 m of 30 mm elastic band, matching sewing thread and a sewing needle
Construction: The Motel Pants are worked seamlessly from the top down in stockinette stitch. The waistband is worked first and folded over an elastic band. German short rows shape the back before increases shape the body. The legs are then separated and worked individually, with decreases for shaping. Each leg is finished with a folded hem. The leg length can be adjusted as desired.
